Tokai springy sound serial dating
I still have a rare vintage catalogue from those days, and the following pictures are all from this source.
THIS IS A 1984 VINTAGE LAWSUIT FERNANDES STRATOCASTER, HAS THE BEAUTIFUL AND VERY RARE COLOR ''SHERWOOD GREEN ''MAPLE NECK WITH ROSEWOOD FRET BOARD, ALSO THIS GUITAR IS UPGRADED WITH A FULL LOADED PICKGUARD WITH USA 1957/62 FENDER CUSTOMSHOP PICKUPS, ALSO POTS AND SWITCH ARE USA MADE. All these guitars were build better and sounded better than the USA versions and now these guitars are very sought after. Probable a Samick Lazer model, this model made famous by Johnny Winter, we have no info about date being made but my guess is late 80/early 90's decal is also added later on. One nick on the back of the neck and someone screwed once A handle on the top of the guitar which of course left a few holes and they're covered up now. Black Alder body, maple neck with rosewood fret board, bullet truss rod, big headstock, white pickguard, 3 super sounding single coils, 3 bolt neck plate. It is of course a used instrument but has been reasonably cared for over the years, please check the pictures closely and you will find there is not much to fault cosmetically, some scratch marks, little finish chips, scuffs, little dents and scratches here and there on the body, there are no serious issues cosmetically.
GUITAR IS IN VERY GOOD SHAPE, COMES INCLUDING GIGBAG. I would put this Strat up against almost any Strat out there. This guitar kicks some serious A** and will only appreciate so it's a solid investment. The action is low without buzzing when played at a normal attack. It has one significant dent on the front of the body that's all, further more its very clean besides the usual little scratches etc. These Silver Series were only made for a short time and are very sought after guitars these days, they are very good build with great pickups and hardware gotho tuners etc, price 675 euro Tokai Goldstar Lawsuit Copie from 1984,these are very sought after guitars, even in the late 70.'early 80's Stevie Ray Vaughan endorsed the Tokai strats.
PRICE 750 EUROThe body and neck are Mahogany made from the catalog descriptions. Condition: This guitar is in very good condition for a guitar this old. I already wrote three articles about Japanese vintage Strats, an introduction and a portrait of the fiesta red and the pink metallic Squier JV. Red guitars were rare in the guitar shops – or rather non-existent.
I noticed that a lot of people surf into this site because of these articles, so I want to release a fourth one, this time about the almost legendary Tokai Springy Sound Strats. Fender had dropped fiesta red eleven years before, in 1969, and in fact I had never seen a fiesta red Strat at all until then.
No question that I had to play that guitar: it also sounded much more like a vintage Strat than the contemporary Strats.
I had to have this guitar, which was priced at 825,- German Marks (the equivalent of 420,- € /US $ 540).
QUALITY IS VERY GOOD, THIS SOUND LIKE A STRAT SHOULD SOUND, EASY PLAYING TOO.
